About
Turn a screen into a take-a-number system. Customers scan the QR code on the screen, get a number and follow it live on their phone, with no app to install. Staff press Next on a phone or tablet to call the next number to their desk, and the screen and the customer’s phone show it at once. Available on the Pro and Ultimate plans.
Get Started
Set up the queue
Add a queue to a slide
- Open the playlist and the slide where you want the queue
- Click Plugins in the top toolbar, and click the Queue tile
- In the Queues tab, name your queues and desks (see below), and choose when numbering starts again
- In the Style tab, choose the language and the colors. The preview on the right shows how the screen will look
- Click Create. The Staff link tab opens with the link for your staff
- Click Close, then Publish
The queue fills the whole slide. If it’s the only slide in the playlist, it plays without a time limit, so the screen keeps the queue open all day.
Add queues
A queue is a line customers can join, for example “Pick-up” or “Returns”. You can have up to 10.
- In the Queues tab, click Add under Queues
- Type a name, and the First number the queue starts from
With one queue, customers get a number as soon as they scan. With more, they choose a queue first. Give each queue a first number far apart, like 100 and 500, so the numbers don’t look alike later in the day.
Add desks
A desk is where numbers are called to, for example “Table 1” or “Counter 2”. You can have up to 30.
- In the Queues tab, click Add under Desks
- Type the name customers will see, like “Go to Counter 2”
Change the colors and the text
- In the Style tab, pick a theme, or choose your own Background, Text and Highlight colors
- Change the finer colors if you like: the top bar and QR code area, the waiting numbers and the called number box. Auto works them out from your three colors
- Type your own text to show under the QR code, or keep “Scan to get a number”
Change the queue settings
- Open the playlist and click the queue on the slide to select it
- Click Settings in the panel on the right
- Change the queues, desks or look, and click Update
- Click Publish
Screens and phones pick up the change right away.
Remove the queue from a slide
- Open the playlist and click the queue on the slide to select it
- Click Remove or press Backspace on your keyboard
- Click Publish
Call numbers
Give your staff the staff link
- Click the queue on the slide to select it. The Staff link is in the panel on the right, or in the Staff link tab of the settings
- Copy the link and send it to your staff, or let them scan the QR code in the Staff link tab
- They open it on a phone, tablet or computer. No login is needed
Anyone with the link can call numbers, so only share it with staff.
Call the next number
- On the staff page, choose your desk. The page remembers it on that phone
- Under Take numbers from, tick the queues this desk serves
- Press Next
The customer who has waited longest in those queues is called to your desk. The screen flashes the number with your desk name, and the customer’s phone shows “Go to” your desk. Now serving shows the number you called. Press Next again when you’re ready for the next customer.
To use the page for another desk, press Change desk.
Reset the queue
- On the staff page, press Reset queue at the bottom, and confirm
Everyone waiting loses their number, and numbering starts again from each queue’s first number. To do this every day by itself, see Start again from the first number in Options.
For your customers
How customers take a number
- They scan the QR code on the screen with their phone camera
- If there are several queues, they choose one
- They get their number, and see how many are ahead of them, live
- They can tap Alert me when it’s my turn, and the phone beeps (and vibrates, on Android) when their number is called
- When it’s their turn, the page shows which desk to go to
A customer who changes their mind can tap Leave queue. Each phone holds one waiting number at a time: scanning again shows the number it already has.

FAQ
Customers
Which plans include the Queue?
The Pro and Ultimate plans. It’s not part of Essential.
Do customers need an app?
No. The QR code opens a web page in the phone’s browser. They don’t install anything or sign up.
A customer sees "This code has expired". Why?
The QR code on the screen changes every few minutes, so a photo of it can’t be used to take numbers from somewhere else. The customer only needs to scan the code on the screen again.
Why doesn't the phone beep or vibrate when the number is called?
Phones only let a web page make a sound after the customer has tapped it, so they need to tap Alert me when it’s my turn. iPhones can’t vibrate from a web page; they beep instead. The page always shows the desk when it’s their turn.
Can a customer take several numbers?
No. Each phone holds one waiting number at a time. There’s also a limit on how many numbers one network can take in a few minutes, so nobody can fill the queue.
Staff and screens
Can several screens show the same queue?
Yes. Every screen playing the slide shows the same queue, and they all update at the same moment.
Can several staff members call numbers at the same time?
Yes. Each one opens the staff link and chooses their own desk. A number is only ever called to one desk.
Does the queue work offline?
No. The screen, the staff page and the customers’ phones all need an internet connection, so the numbers are always up to date.
What happens to waiting numbers at the end of the day?
With Every day at, the queue starts again at that time and numbers still waiting end. Customers who still have the page open are told to scan again. With Only when staff reset it, numbers wait until staff press Reset queue.
