About
Add videos to any slide from your Library or from Pixabay. Videos are saved on your player, so they play smoothly even when the internet is slow. Mute, loop or start them at any second, play them full screen, or put text and logos on top. YouTube videos use the YouTube plugin instead.
Get Started
Everything here starts in the editor: go to Playlists, open your playlist and choose the slide. When you’re done, click Publish.
Add and replace
Add a video to a slide
- Click Assets in the top menu
- Find or search for the video, and click it
The slide duration is set to the length of the video automatically.
Play a video full screen
- Start with a playlist with one empty slide
- Add the video
- Click Fit to canvas in the settings on the right
If the video doesn’t fill the slide, a black slide background looks best.
Replace a video everywhere it's used
- Click the video, then Replace Asset
- Under Selected File, untick the slides where it should stay
- Click Select new asset, and click the new video
The slide duration changes to the length of the new video.
Remove a video
- Click the video
- Click Remove, or press Backspace
Playback
Start a video later than the beginning
- Click the video
- In Start playing video at, enter the second to start at
A 30-second video started at 10 seconds plays from second 11 to 30 and stops. Shorten the slide, or turn on Loop.
Mute or loop a video
- Click the video
- Turn on Muted or Loop
Put text and images on top of a video
- Click the video
- Under Always on Top, choose Background
The video then stays behind everything else, whatever you do in the layers. This is heavy work: entry-level players and smart TVs may not manage it.

Always on top

Files and formats
Which formats are supported?
3g2, 3gp, 3gpp, avi, dv, flv, m2ts, m4v, mkv, mov, mp4, mpeg, mpg, mts, mxf, ogg, swf, vob, webm and wmv. Every format is converted to mp4.
What is the best format?
An .mp4 file with H.264 or H.265. H.264 is often better for players: it’s less compressed, so it takes less power to play.
How big can a video be?
Up to 3 GB per file.
Is 4K supported?
Yes, if your player can play 4K. Windows, Linux and Mac players play it like any other video. Android devices are much weaker, so the app opens Android’s own video player on the spot of the video. Learn more about 4K.
It says the bit rate is too high. What does that mean?
The bit rate is how much data one second of video takes. Keep it under 8000 kbit/s, about 1 megabyte per second: a 60-second clip should be under 60 MB. That’s plenty for Full HD, but the exact limit depends on your player.
How do I lower the bit rate?
Use the free HandBrake. Set constant quality between 21 and 23 for the best balance of quality and size, and tick Web optimized so the video starts faster. See our HandBrake guide.

Why does the slide duration change when I add a video?
The slide is set to the length of the video. To stop that, go to your profile, open Other Settings and turn off Automatically set slide duration when adding a video.
Can I lock the position of a video?
Yes. A locked object stays where it is and can’t be resized or removed. Read more about locking objects.
