The Instagram Photo plugin shows the photos from your Instagram page in your digital signage content.

Get Started
Before you start with our two Instagram plugins, make sure you are an administrator of the pages you’d like to show content from.
- How to become an administrator of a Facebook page (Instagram and Facebook are both owned by Meta)
- Convert your Instagram account to an Instagram Business account.
- Link your Facebook page and Instagram Business account.
Unfortunately, this is a requirement set by Facebook, and we can’t make the process simpler. We recommend going through this setup first and getting it working. The plugin has a Page drop-down where you can see which pages have been granted access. If a page can’t be selected, it isn’t linked to an Instagram Business account.
Add Instagram to your content
Before you begin, make sure you are an administrator of the pages you’d like to show in your digital signage content (see above).
- Go to Playlists
- Find or create a playlist and click Edit
- Find or create a new slide
- Click Plugins
- Search for Instagram and click Instagram Photo
- Click Log in with Facebook on the right
- Follow the instructions to log in to Facebook
- Click the Select Page dropdown and click the page you’d like to show in your content
- Open Slide Settings and set the slide duration (the Instagram posts update automatically according to Update interval (s) for as long as the slide is shown)
- Click Save
- Click Preview to see how it will look in your content.
That’s all you need to add Instagram to your content. The plugin has many more settings: go through them to make everything look just the way you want.
Remove Instagram from your content
- Go to Playlists
- Find your playlist and click Edit
- Find the slide where you have Instagram added
- Click the plugin
- Click Remove or press Backspace on your keyboard
If you only have Instagram on the slide, it might be easier to remove the whole slide. Hover over the slide in the slide overview and click X.

- Page – The Instagram account must be an “Instagram Business” account and linked to a Facebook page. If your page is not in the drop-down or you can’t select it, see the FAQ below to fix this.
- Caption above photo – By default, captions are shown on top of the photo, at the bottom. If your photos contain text, the caption makes both texts hard to read. Turn this option off to show captions below the photo in a separate section.
- Show likes – This shows the number of likes in the photo caption area.
- Show comment count – This shows the number of comments in the photo caption area.
- Show time ago – This shows how long ago the photo was posted in the caption area.
- Play Videos - Turn this on to show the videos from the Instagram page
- Columns – Defines how many photo columns are in the plugin.
- Font zoom – Depending on how big the plugin area is and what kind of font you use, you might want to increase or decrease the font size.
- Caption lines – If the photo caption text is very long, it may not fit entirely. This option sets the maximum number of caption lines shown; if the caption is longer, it’s cut off with an ellipsis (…). If you don’t want to show a caption at all, just set the value to 0.
- Caption background – The background color for the caption area. We recommend using a color with transparency for a nicer look – the default is a white color with an alpha (transparency) of 0.5.
- Border width – Adds a border around each individual photo in the grid. We suggest choosing either black or white.
- Update interval – How often the photos in the grid are updated.
- Locale – If ‘Show time ago’ is enabled, you can localize the text – such as “10 minutes ago”.
- Positioning – Manually adjust the placement of the plugin pixel by pixel.
- Sizing – Manually adjust the size of the plugin pixel by pixel
FAQ
I don’t see any pages in the drop-down.
Instagram restricts access, so you can only show a photo grid for Instagram pages you are an administrator of. If you don’t have an administrator role, first ask the page owner on Facebook to give you the administrator role (Instagram and Facebook are both owned by Meta).

After you’ve received the administrator role for the Facebook page, the page needs to be linked to the Instagram account. This process is explained in the answer below.
I can’t select the page.
Facebook (which owns Instagram) has tightened access to user data for third-party plugins. If you can see the page but can’t select it, the page is not linked to an Instagram account.
What needs to be done:
- Convert your Instagram account to an Instagram Business account
- Link the Instagram account to a Facebook page
Unfortunately, both steps are required, and you need to own or administer both the Instagram account and the Facebook page. Without them, our plugin can’t fetch data from Instagram.
How many photos are loaded?
The plugin loads the 25 most recent posts from Instagram.
Are videos supported?
Yes. In the settings, turn on Play Videos to include the videos from the Instagram page. Videos play automatically.
