Adding animations to elements in your playlist

Animations

Animate any objects, like images, shapes, text, etc. in your digital signage content

Captivate your audience with animated elements in Play Digital Signage. Add entrance and exit animations to images, text, shapes, and plugins like weather and clock. Create dynamic, eye-catching displays that enhance viewer engagement and leave a lasting impression.

Animations let you add movement to almost any element on your canvas. You have options that allow you to have elements coming onto the canvas independently from each other, for example, a text fading in on the 2nd. Second, an image sliding in from the left on the 3rd. Second, and your logo sliding in from the right on the 5th. second.

We recommend you watch the video above to get a better understanding of Animations.

The following objects can not be animated: Video, websites, playlist-in-playlist, Canva, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, Flipboard, Google Plugins, Media RSS, News, Notion, PosterMyWall, PowerBI, RSS Reader, RSS Ticker, Ticker, Video Input, and Waze

I do not see the animations when I preview a playlist.

There is an option in the OS itself that limits animations in the browser:

Windows: SettingsAccessibilityVisual EffectsAnimation effects

macOS: System SettingsAccessibilityDisplayReduce motion

Why are my animations stuttering?

If you are working with an entry-level media player or smart TV, there's a high possibility that animations take up too big a portion of the resources available, and that can result in stuttering animations, transitions, etc.

What can I add animations to?

You can add animations to all basic elements like images, shapes, and text.
