Add entrance and exit animations to images, text, shapes and plugins like weather and clock, so your slides catch the eye.
Get Started
Animations let you add movement to almost any element on your canvas. Elements can come onto the canvas independently of each other: for example, a text fading in at second 2, an image sliding in from the left at second 3, and your logo sliding in from the right at second 5.

The following objects can’t be animated: video, websites, playlist-in-playlist, Canva, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, Flipboard, Google plugins, Media RSS, News, Notion, PosterMyWall, Power BI, RSS Reader, RSS Ticker, Ticker, Video Input and Waze.
Add an animation to an object
An object can be text, a shape, an icon, an emoji, an image, a plugin and more.
- Click Playlists
- Find your playlist and click Edit
- Find and click the slide where you have an object that you want to animate
- Click to select the object
- Click Animate (at the top of the settings on the right)
- Pick an Entrance Animation
- Pick an Animation Easing
- Set the delay (the second of the slide at which the animation starts)
- Set the duration (how long the animation takes from start to finish)
- Pick an Exit Animation
- Pick an Animation Easing
- Set the exit prior (how many seconds before the end of the slide the exit animation starts)
- Set the duration (how long the animation takes from start to finish)

Animation Start and Duration
Set the start time and the duration of the animation (a delay of 2 seconds means the animation begins 2 seconds after the slide starts)

Exit Prior and Duration
Set the start time and the duration of the animation (an exit prior of 2 seconds means the exit animation starts 2 seconds before the slide ends)

FAQ
I do not see the animations when I preview a playlist.
Your operating system may have a setting turned on that limits animations in the browser:
Windows: Settings → Accessibility → Visual Effects → Animation effects
macOS: System Settings → Accessibility → Display → Reduce motion
Why are my animations stuttering?
If you use an entry-level media player or smart TV, animations may take up too much of the device’s resources, which can make animations and transitions stutter.
What can I add animations to?
You can add animations to all basic elements, like images, shapes and text, and to plugins like weather and clock.
