The device (Also referred to as Media Player) can either be online or offline. If the device is online it means the device is connected to the internet and that it can reach our digital signage cloud. If the device is offline it means the device is not connected to the internet and therefore can not connect to our digital signage cloud.

  • Online – The device is connected to the Internet
  • Offline – The device have no access to the Internet

How do I find out why my device is offline?

If your device is offline you should check the following

  • Is the Play Digital Signage app running?

Yes, If the app is running continue to the next step.
No, if the app is not running, please launch the app.

  • Is the device connected to your wifi?

Yes, If the device is connected to your wifi, you'll need to check if the device has access to the internet. To do this, close our app > Open a browser (On the device itself) > Type in playsignage.com in the URL and click search.

If you see our website then it's most likely there are services that are blocked in your network, please refer to Whitelisting.

If you do not see our website the device has no connectivity to the internet. Keep in mind that a device can be connected to wifi, even though it's not connected to the internet. In this scenario, you have to check up on your wifi network.

No, If the device is not connected to your wifi, you'll need to connect it to make sure the device can connect to the Internet.

Where do I set up wifi on the device?

Wifi is set up in the device's operating system (OS). Setting up wifi on your device is different from device to device, Android, Amazon, Google, etc. all have their unique ways. Go to Youtube.com and search How to set up wifi on Android.

I've tried everything, what should I do?

If you're having problems getting wifi or internet working on your device, we recommend you reset the device to factory and start from scratch. Reset to factory is usually found in the device settings. 

When doing a reset to factory you'll need to remove your screen in my.playsignage.com and then re-link it when you've installed the app after a factory reset.
