Product Update, August 1, 2019: Remote Player Settings and More

Version 1.15 brings a feature most of you asked for: managing player settings remotely. Here’s what’s new.

Change player settings from anywhere

Until now, some settings lived only on the player itself. To change them, someone often had to be there in person.

Those settings are now in the web portal, so you can change them from wherever you are. You also see more about each player: its resolution, operating system, the local time on the device and other hardware details. That makes it easier to understand a screen without being in front of it.

Download progress in the web portal

When you publish new content, the blue bar at the top of the screen shows how far the download is. Now you can follow the same progress in the web portal, on the screen page.

Easier billing

If a payment fails for 14 days, the account is blocked until the invoice is paid. You can now update your credit card and pay unpaid invoices yourself, straight from the transaction history. As soon as nothing is unpaid, the account unblocks by itself. See billing.

A new login system

We’ve reworked user authentication, so we can manage users better and support logins from more platforms. Your users and passwords stay the same; passwords are stored hashed with bcrypt, never in plain text.
