Version 1.09 of Play Digital Signage brings four new tools that make content easier to build, and to check once it’s on screen.
Screen Capture
Screen Capture shows you what’s really playing on a screen. Press the new button in the screen section, and Play asks the player to take a picture of what it shows right now. It’s the quickest way to check a screen you can’t see, without calling someone on site.
Screen Capture is not supported in the Chrome extension.
Design templates
Building great playlists takes time, and sometimes you just need an idea to start from. The new templates help with both. The first ones are Abstract, Company Presentation, Meet the Teachers, Business, Hours, and Meetings at the office. Pick one, change the texts and pictures, and publish. More templates will follow.
Crop images in the editor
No need for a separate image editor to make a picture fit. Click an image, click Crop, mark the area you want and save. The cropped image is also saved in your library, so you can use it in other playlists. See cropping images.
Tickers and videos move with layers
More and more of you build playlists with several zones. Tickers and videos now follow your layers, so you can place them above or below other content.
Moving tickers and videos between layers can take a lot of power from a player, so test your playlist on the player before you publish it to every screen.
