Version 3.4 brings something many of you have asked for: BrightSign support. And a set of smaller improvements we think you’ll love.

BrightSign OS

BrightSign media players are built for digital signage and nothing else, so they’re a natural choice for many installations. From version 3.4, Play runs on BrightSign OS. Learn how to set up BrightSign.

Ken Burns effect

Add the famous Ken Burns effect to any slide transition. The slide slowly zooms and pans while it’s shown, adjusted to the slide’s duration. It brings life to still photos. See slide transitions.

Small things you’ll notice every day

  • Library search now looks through all your files and folders by file name, instead of filtering the folder you’re in.
  • Sort playlists by when they were last published.
  • Default slide background: pick one in your default values.
  • Unlock the aspect ratio of a video to make it fit your slide.
  • Future slides in slide conditions are marked with a yellow dot.
  • Yellow publish button: if a playlist has changes that aren’t published yet, the button turns yellow.
