Product Update, October 18, 2022: Trial Screens and Google Drive Files

Published on by Lars Normark Andersen

The Google Drive logo

Version 2.6 makes it easier to get started, and to get your files into Play.

Try screens before you pay

Play now supports trial screens, so you can link a screen and test your content before you pay for it.

Files straight from Google Drive

Keep your pictures in Google Drive? Add them directly from your Drive to your library, without downloading and uploading them first.

Better playback

  • YouTube closed captions now load without a refresh.
  • Video plays more smoothly on Raspberry Pi players.
  • Slide-in animations take an object’s outline and shadow into account, so nothing is cut off as it moves in.
  • Fixed: SVG files with a colour overlay did not load on Android.
