Product Update, May 29, 2024: New Windows, Mac and Linux Apps

Published on by Lars Normark Andersen

The Windows logo

Version 4.0 of our app for Windows, macOS and Linux is out.

A modern engine

The app is now built on Electron 30, which means Chrome 124 and Node 20 inside. For you, that means websites, web apps and dashboards show as they do in a modern browser, with the latest security fixes.

64-bit Windows app

There’s a new 64-bit app for Windows. It makes full use of today’s Windows PCs and mini PCs, especially with large files and long playlists.

Websites load better

Pages shown with the Website plugin preload better, so they’re ready when the slide starts.

How to update

Most players update the app by themselves. If yours doesn’t, see how to update the app by hand.

What’s in this update

  • Windows, macOS and Linux app 4.0.0, built on Electron 30 (Chrome 124, Node 20)
  • New Windows 64-bit app
  • Improved website preloading
