Product Update, November 7, 2025: Restrict Login Methods and Alert Webhooks

The Okta logo

This update is about control and reliability, for IT teams and for everyone who depends on their screens.

Restrict login methods

Team owners can now restrict the login methods team members may use, for example only Microsoft or Okta. Everyone then logs in through your company’s own accounts, with your security rules, and access ends as soon as someone leaves the company.

Webhook alerts

Alerts can now call a webhook when a screen goes offline or comes back. Send them to your own monitoring, ticketing or chat tools.

Download a playlist’s assets

Download a file with all the assets of a playlist, and links to them. Handy for backups, or to reuse the content somewhere else.

Search finds playlists in folders

Search in playlists now also shows results from inside your folders.

A failover for Cloudflare

Much of the internet runs through Cloudflare, and so does Play. We’ve added a failover that takes over if Cloudflare has an outage.
