Product Update, November 23, 2024: Support for Samsung Tizen 7

Play Digital Signage now supports Tizen 7.

The newest Samsung displays

Tizen is the operating system on Samsung’s professional displays, and Tizen 7 runs on the newest models. Play runs directly on the display, so you don’t need a separate media player: one cable less, one device less to manage.

Why run Play on a Samsung professional display

  • Built for long hours: professional displays can run 16 or 24 hours a day, depending on the model.
  • Longer warranty: usually 3 years, instead of the 12 months of a typical home TV.
  • On and off on a schedule: Play can turn the panel off at night and on in the morning, which saves power and wear.
  • Managed remotely: see the app version and manage the display from the web portal, like any other Play screen.

Note that the Play app is for Samsung’s professional displays, not home TVs.

See the Samsung Tizen setup guide to get started, or compare models in Find a Player.
