Product Update, January 27, 2026: Enforced Two-Factor Login and YouTube Shorts

Published on by Lars Normark Andersen

The Google Authenticator logo

This update makes teams safer, faster to load, and adds YouTube’s short videos to your screens.

Require two-factor authentication

Team owners can now force the whole team to use two-factor authentication (2FA). Go to Team and turn it on: every member then needs a code from their authenticator app to log in. One stolen password is no longer enough to get into your screens.

YouTube Shorts

The YouTube plugin now supports YouTube Shorts. Their portrait format is a natural fit for screens hung in portrait.

Faster for teams with many playlists

The playlist endpoint of our API used to send a thumbnail for every playlist, which made teams with many playlists slow to load. Now, if a team has more than 20 playlists, the thumbnails are left out and the browser loads each one when you scroll to it, and keeps them in its cache.

Better aligning in the editor

When you select several objects, the align actions now align them with each other, and centring uses the first object you selected.

What’s in this update

  • The playlists API skips thumbnails for teams with more than 20 playlists; the browser lazy-loads and caches them
  • Enforce two-factor authentication for your team under Team
  • Editor: align only between the selected objects, and centre on the first selected object
  • The YouTube plugin supports YouTube Shorts
