Product Update, August 11, 2025: Players Repair Damaged Files Themselves

Published on by Lars Normark Andersen

Players store your content locally, so it keeps playing even if the internet goes down. But files on a device can get damaged: by a power cut during a download, or by a worn-out memory card.

Players check their own files

Media players now check their downloaded files on a schedule. If a file can’t be verified, the player downloads it again by itself.

What it means for you:

  • Fewer frozen images, black slides or videos that stop halfway.
  • Problems fix themselves, often before anyone notices.
  • No need to send someone on site to clear the cache or reinstall.

You don’t need to do anything: it works automatically on your players.

What’s in this update

  • Media players periodically check downloaded files for corruption, and download again any file that can’t be verified
