ScreenHub

Cirrus LED's CMS—versus pure BYO software

ScreenHub is Cirrus LED's cloud CMS for outdoor and LED networks, with display health monitoring and a published software-only path too. Strong for LED field ops—just know independent review volume is thin, and software-only Basic/Pro stickers are a different buy than Cirrus hardware bundles.

Play vs ScreenHub

Every project is different, so ScreenHub may win for some teams while Play wins for others. ScreenHub is known as Cirrus LED's software layer for uniquely sized and exterior displays. This page is a fairer read on Basic / Pro software-only packaging (about $9.99 / $20), LED-included paths, support and review themes, and how those stack against Play's Essential / Pro / Ultimate BYO tiers (about $8 / $12 / $16) plus 24/7 chat—so you can decide with the same checklist on both sides.

Pricing

ScreenHub is not primarily a race-to-the-bottom $5 signage app. Cirrus markets ScreenHub as the software layer for every screen you run—including uniquely sized LED and exterior displays—with optional AI traffic insights when paired with Cirrus hardware.

They also publish a software-only path: Basic about $9.99/month (editor, media library, scheduling on your own hardware); Pro about $20/month (advanced scheduling, display grouping, fuller platform). Confirm live on screenhub.com / cirrusled.com—packaging (per account versus per display) is easy to misread. Older directory listings (Starter $0 / Standard $39 / Pro $99) still circulate—treat directories as stale until matched to Cirrus's page.

Play: Essential / Pro / Ultimate roughly $8 / $12 / $16 per screen (volume and about 10% annual discount). First screen can be free forever after an approved review within 30 days and chat confirmation.

Cirrus hardware path: when you buy Cirrus displays, ScreenHub is often positioned as included for the life of the sign. That can be excellent TCO for outdoor LED—and a completely different buy than "$9.99 CMS for a lobby Fire Stick." Compare apples to apples: software-only ScreenHub versus Play, or Cirrus LED plus ScreenHub versus Play plus your own panels. Fold hardware into Pricing and Compatibility—no separate Hardware field.

2

Support

ScreenHub / Cirrus emphasize phone and email support on business days, FAQs/datasheets, remote troubleshooting, and field technicians for hands-on problems—a real advantage if you run physical LED installs. Marketing has highlighted short average hold times; treat that as a vendor claim, not an SLA you can contract from a blog.

Independent reviews are thin. On Capterra UK (only 2 reviews, overall 3.0/5 as of research): one titled "Unreliable Software, Poor Customer Service" (2.0) cites zero proactive communication, upgrades that hurt lower-tier functionality, non-intuitive UI, non-functional iPad posting, and WYSIWYG mismatch; another titled "Support Changed" (4.0) says staff are great when reached, but after the Cirrus-to-ScreenHub shift customers leave messages for callbacks that can take days.

Play: live chat 24/7/365 plus phone in business hours (Play pricing FAQ).

If your screens are outdoor LEDs that need truck rolls, ScreenHub's field model may win. If you need a human in chat at 11 p.m. when a lobby playlist breaks, compare published hours and review volume before you buy.

Content Development

ScreenHub strengths: browser drag-and-drop editor, templates / premade content, Unsplash and GIPHY libraries, scheduling and campaign-style rotations (especially for billboard-style operators), and emergency-alert takeover messaging on the current marketing site.

Where Play differs: Play's cloud slide/page editor is built for non-designers assembling zones, plugins (weather, social, Power BI, CAP, and more), conditions, and playlist logic inside the product. ScreenHub is stronger as LED/network CMS plus templates; it is not the same as Play's PowerPoint-like editor plus plugin ecosystem.

Fair claim: ScreenHub equals design/schedule/monitor for sign networks (especially LED). Play equals all-in-one editor plus broad BYO fleet.

Compatibility

Cirrus markets ScreenHub for any screen you already own and for Cirrus LED hardware where health monitoring, People Counter / Car Tracker, and proactive support "come alive." Full monitoring features are hardware-coupled—do not assume software-only Basic unlocks the whole Cirrus ops stack.

Play is BYO-first: Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, Fire TV / Amazon Signage Stick, Chrome-based players, BrightSign, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, and more—license-only, no proprietary free Pi or required LED vendor.

If you already standardized on Cirrus outdoor panels, ScreenHub is the natural CMS. If you mix Signage Sticks, mini PCs, SoC TVs, and Macs, Play's compatibility story is usually simpler.

Teams

ScreenHub documents role-based access control (RBAC) and Workspaces for who can touch which displays—important for multi-site operators.

Play includes multi-user access, roles, sub-teams, and sharing as core multi-location tools; analytics / audit-style extras scale Essential to Pro to Ultimate. Compare the governance features you need on each public matrix, not marketing headlines alone.

What We Learned Testing ScreenHub's LED Stack Against Play

Testing the ScreenHub Digital Signage Customer Experience Here at Play Digital Signage, we know every digital signage company feels different until you try it. We evaluated ScreenHub/Cirrus pricing, thin review data, and product fit the way a buyer would.

What we liked: clear positioning for LED / multi-display networks and emergency-alert storytelling; published software-only Basic/Pro stickers (easier than pure "book a call" eras); templates, media libraries, and workspaces / RBAC for operators; field plus remote support model suited to physical sign installs.

What held us back relative to Play: independent review volume is very low; the few Capterra voices flag UI friction and slower support after brand transition; best monitoring/AI story assumes Cirrus hardware—software-only buyers should not expect the full LED ops stack; older directory pricing ($39/$99) still circulates; less emphasis on a Play-style all-in-one slide editor and 24/7 chat.

Who should pick which: Choose ScreenHub if you want (or already have) Cirrus LED displays, care about display health monitoring / outdoor LED workflows, emergency-alert opt-ins, and prefer phone/email plus field technicians over chat-first support. Choose Play if you want transparent Essential/Pro/Ultimate software pricing (~$8 / $12 / $16), a PowerPoint-like cloud editor, Mac plus wide BYO players, multi-location teams, and 24/7 live chat—without a sales call to learn the software sticker.

Run both trials with the same checklist: editor workflow, two locations, a weekend support hypothetical, and whether you actually need Cirrus panels—then decide.
