Navori vs Play: a fair comparison

Navori

Navori is a Swiss enterprise platform for integrators, with AI audience analytics and ad tools. Its entry plan is $14 per player; everything above it is quote-only.

Enterprise Power — With an Enterprise Sales Cycle

Navori Labs and Play Digital Signage serve different buyers. Navori sells mainly through integrators, operators and resellers to large networks. Play is a self-serve cloud platform with published prices. Here's how they compare on pricing, support, content, hardware and teams.

  1. Pricing

Navori publishes one software price: Cloud Essential from $14 per player per month, for networks under 250 screens. Cloud Professional and Enterprise self-hosting are quote-only, and the StiX 3800 media player is sold separately.

Play publishes every plan: Essential $8, Pro $12 and Ultimate $16 per screen per month, or 10% less when you pay annually, and your first screen is free. Play Pro, with the API, Sync and Slide Conditions, costs less than Navori's entry plan.

Plans don't line up one to one. Timelines, dayparting and campaigns are Cloud Professional features at Navori, while every Play plan includes scheduling.

As a list-price example, 10 screens for a year cost $1,680 on Navori Cloud Essential and $960 on Play Essential paid monthly ($864 annually), before volume discounts or hardware.

Navori also offers self-hosted and perpetual licences for large networks, up to 99,000 players per server. On Capterra, some Navori reviewers mention annual maintenance fees and price increases. Play is cloud-only and billed by the hour on monthly plans, so you can stop at any time.

  2. Support

Navori lists support 18 hours a day, 6 days a week. Its 30-day free trial needs no credit card, and a Navori representative contacts you after sign-up.

Play includes free live chat and email support 24/7/365, plus phone support on weekdays. You sign up and start on your own, with no sales call.

  3. Content Development

Navori's Template Designer and Ticker Designer bind templates to live data from RSS, XML, JSON, Facebook, X, Google Calendar and Microsoft Exchange, and content can change based on rules, for example the weather. Some Capterra reviewers mention a steep learning curve and a web interface that can feel overloaded.

Play's editor works in the browser like PowerPoint: slides, layers, animations and custom fonts, with Canva, an AI image plugin and 40+ plugins such as weather, YouTube, Google Sheets, Power BI and Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Navori is moving its Navori QL and Signagelive customers to Qompose, a rebuilt platform launched in June 2026 with broad availability planned for late 2026. Play is one product that is updated continuously.

  4. Compatibility

Navori's player runs on Windows PCs (up to 8K), its own StiX 3800 player, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, BrightSign, Philips and Sony Android displays, Elo, Innes Qeedji and NovaStar, and it is Chrome Enterprise Recommended. Navori describes its generic Android app as meant for testing.

Play runs on the hardware you may already have: Amazon Fire TV and Signage Stick, Android, Google TV, Chromecast, Raspberry Pi, Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, BrightSign and any browser. Play doesn't sell hardware, so there's no proprietary player to buy.

For high-end video walls with frame-accurate sync on Windows, Navori is strong. For low-cost everyday devices, Play covers more.

  5. Teams

Navori offers multi-user access with roles and domain-level controls, SAML single sign-on and SOC 2 Type I and II certification, and its reseller program lets operators offer a white-labelled service.

Play includes unlimited users, teams and storage on every plan, with single sign-on (Microsoft Entra and Okta) and two-factor authentication for all users.

  6. Analytics and Advertising

Navori's Aquaji uses cameras for anonymous audience analytics such as footfall, age group, gender and dwell time, and can trigger content. Navori also has an advertising toolkit and a new ad server for retail media.

Play offers proof of play, a dashboard, audit logs and Ad Cycle on the Ultimate plan. AudienceAware, Play's audience analytics, is in beta. If camera analytics or ad sales are central to your network, Navori is the more complete choice today.

What We Learned Comparing Navori and Play

We compared Navori and Play the way a buyer would: published prices, plan features, supported hardware, support hours and reviews on Capterra, where Navori has 4.6 out of 5 from 31 reviews and Play has 4.8 from 939 (October 2026).

What we liked about Navori: reliable playback that scales to very large networks, rules and data-driven content, SOC 2 certification, self-hosting, camera-based audience analytics and tools for selling ads on screens.

What held us back compared with Play: only the entry plan has a published price; dayparting and campaigns need the quote-only Professional plan; support isn't 24/7; and customers face a move to the new Qompose platform.

Who should pick which: choose Navori if you run a large enterprise or retail media network, need on-premise hosting or certified security, or buy through an integrator. Choose Play if you want to see every price up front, start with a free screen, get 24/7 help and use the screens and players you already have.
