The world of digital signage is constantly evolving, and Amazon is now making waves with its innovative new product: the Amazon Signage Stick.
Play Digital Signage is proud to be an official launch partner for the Amazon Signage Stick. This collaboration allows our users to seamlessly integrate their existing Play Digital Signage accounts with the Signage Stick, for convenient and affordable digital signage.
The Amazon Signage Stick is a purpose-built device designed exclusively for digital signage. Unlike the FireTV Stick line, it’s not for streaming movies or playing games. Instead, it transforms any compatible screen into a dynamic screen for showcasing engaging content like promotional messages, announcements, and captivating visuals.
A unique feature is its streamlined functionality. You won't find an app store or the ability to download additional apps. This ensures the device remains focused solely on delivering your digital signage content seamlessly and securely while locked down in kiosk mode.
Setting up the Signage Stick is also unique. After plugging it into your screen's HDMI port, you'll pair it with your Amazon account through their website using a unique code displayed on the screen. This adds security and allows you to manage your Signage Stick from your Amazon account easily. During this process, you choose Play Digital Signage as your provider, and the Amazon Signage Stick automatically downloads and installs our app.
This dedicated approach, combined with its user-friendly setup and powerful performance, makes the Amazon Signage Stick a game-changer for businesses looking to elevate their visual communication.
Setting up the Signage Stick is incredibly easy. Simply plug it into your screens, connect to Wi-Fi, and you're ready to go. No complicated hardware or software installations are required. One of the most appealing aspects of the Amazon Signage Stick is its affordability. Compared to traditional digital signage players, it's incredibly budget-friendly, making it an attractive option for businesses of all sizes.
Kiosk mode elevates the digital signage experience. It ensures your screens exclusively display your chosen signage content, eliminating distractions and maintaining audience focus. By locking down the device, kiosk mode prevents unauthorized access, ensuring your content remains secure and unaltered. Kiosk mode creates a streamlined and user-friendly experience for viewers, allowing them to easily engage with your content without any unnecessary navigation or distractions. Whether in retail stores, restaurants, or corporate offices, kiosk mode ensures your digital signage remains consistent and professional.
The Amazon Signage Stick gives you more control, making it easier to manage and perform actions remotely. For example, if needed, you can reboot the device from my.playsignage.com. On most devices, this feature is locked so that the only option you have is reloading the app, not rebooting the device on a hardware level. The extended control, compared to other devices, also gives you access to an ocean of information, like storage, uptime, time, and so forth.
Kiosk mode means the device launches in our app; yes, it's that simple. You connect the device to power, and within seconds, our app is running. If someone gets a hold of the remote and exits our app, it will relaunch after a second. In short, no matter what you do, only the Play Digital Signage app can stay running on the device.
The Amazon FireTV Stick, Google Chromecast, and other devices were never built for the purpose of running digital signage content. These devices all have an overlay, they have additional apps running in the background and they have a bunch of stuff that isn’t related to digital signage at all. All of this limits and restricts the device from running your digital signage content smoothly and uninterrupted. In technical terms, you might say it takes up resources and thereby makes the device slower.
The Amazon Signage Stick doesn’t have any of this. There are no fancy overlays, no background apps are running, and nothing to consume resources on the device itself. This leaves you with a device where you have full access to all its resources. This makes the Amazon Signage Stick perform much better than any entry-level device on the market.
Amazon has added basic mobile device management (MDM) capabilities for the Amazon Signage Stick. This means you can manage all devices in one centralized platform, making it easier to add devices, update devices, and remove devices. You are in full control.
At Play Digital Signage, we're looking forward to seeing what Amazon can incorporate into this mobile device management in the future. Perhaps down the line, you'll be able to simply plug in the device, and it will automatically set up wifi, link the device, and have the device running in just a few seconds with no interaction. This is a feature we know most larger organizations are waiting for and is something that will save time and resources in any digital signage project.
The Amazon Signage Stick, coupled with the power and flexibility of Play Digital Signage, offers a compelling solution for businesses looking to elevate their visual communication strategy. Whether you're a small business owner or a large enterprise, this combination provides an affordable, user-friendly, and effective way to harness the power of digital signage.
