Update November 2023
Amazon recently released a 2nd generation of the FireTV stick 4K device, unfortunately FireOS is blocking our app autolaunch functionality in these devices. The new version seems to be blocking self-start of all apps (not just our app), we are actively looking for a workaround for this issue. If you have not ordered the device yet, we would recommend looking at Chromecast or Onn. player instead.
Amazon FireTV Stick 4K
The Amazon FireTV Stick 4K works great with most basic content such as text, images, video, and plug-ins. However, it fails many dynamic content tests such as transitions, animations, and advanced playlists.
What does the manufacturer say about the FireTV Stick 4K?
Cinematic experience – Watch in vibrant 4K Ultra HD with support for Dolby Vision, HDR, and HDR10+. Alexa Voice Remote – Search and launch content with your voice. Get to favorite apps quickly with preset buttons. Control power and volume with one remote. Simple and intuitive – Quickly access your favorite apps, live TV, and things you use most, all from the main menu. Easy to set up, compact enough to stay hidden – Plugin behind your TV, turn on the TV, and connect to the internet to get set up.
If you have a Wi-Fi 6 router, we recommend Fire TV Stick 4K Max.
Fire TV Stick 4K is compatible with HD TVs and 4K UHD TVs. 4K streaming requires 4K UHD TV and available 4K content. Dolby Atmos is available on select Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ titles when connected to compatible equipment.
